Note that the Flexpak Thermoforming Quality Standard includes AQL's of 0.65%, 1.0% and 4.0% for critical, major and minor attributes based upon an ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 model.

Key Flexpak Business System elements:

  • Document control - Electronically based intranet for majority of business system. Incorporated the use of fillable hardcopy forms. Design and QA exercise some degree of their own document control for drawings packages, job specific QC check sheets, etc.
  • Quality Records - Each department maintains stipulated records for a predetermined length of time. Typically 1 to 5 years.
  • Product I D and Traceability - From raw material through to finished goods via hardcopy and electronic means
  • A defined process for identifying product status which includes control of nonconforming product
  • Process Control
    • Departmental Work instructions
    • Process Control books issued by Part Number: Includes part drawings, packing information and set up information
    • Routine maintenance of Thermoforming equipment
  • A Corrective and Preventive action system
  • Training - based upon job functionality and tracked via "Employee Training Manager" database.
  • A defined Design and Development cycle
    • Includes customer input at initial phases up to FA parts
    • Development cycle continues with Operations input and Continuous Process Improvement Group.
